About the Role

We're looking for a Game Data Lead to help shape the future of Love & Pies and lead the analytics function for our most successful title. As a strategic leader, you’ll own the data function for the game — setting the vision, raising the bar on data quality and reproducibility, and empowering your team to deliver insights that shape product direction and elevate the player experience.

You’ll lead and mentor a small team of analysts, partner closely with the Game Lead, and bring a strong voice to product decisions that influence millions of players.

• Drive Strategic Insights and Decision-Making
  • Identify and define opportunity areas for game and business growth using data.
  • Empower analysts to own and structure their own research initiatives and experimentation pipelines.
  • Validate and inform business decisions efficiently by breaking big research initiatives into multi-phase analysis strategies that surface patterns, trends, and actions.
  • Build compelling stories from data — tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders — to drive clarity and alignment.

• Lead and Empower a High-Performing Data Team
  • Manage, coach, and support a team of analysts dedicated to our live game, supporting their technical growth and career development.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, rigorous thinking, and continuous improvement.
  • Optimise the team’s output — from dashboards and reports to ad-hoc deep dives — and ensure analytical excellence.

• Own and Advance Our Analytics Framework
  • Take accountability for end-to-end data quality — including event tracking, A/B testing design, and integrity of analytical outputs.
  • Coach the team to level up experimentation knowledge and ensure rigorous, scalable, and reproducible analysis practices.
  • Establish clear success metrics for game features and content, and set up robust dashboarding and monitoring practices to ensure these metrics are tracked effectively.

• Partner Across Data Disciplines
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists on model development (e.g., churn prediction, LTV models, player clustering), and ensure relevant application in the game context.
  • Ensure robust, well-documented code and analysis processes that are shared across the team (SQL, Python, etc.).
  • Contribute to larger company-wide data initiatives, including data strategy, hiring for new games, and capability scaling across teams.

About You

• Extensive experience as a data analyst in the gaming industry, ideally with a Data Science or engineering background.
• Deep understanding of how free-to-play games work and through this knowledge able to engage with product, economy, design and the wider game team.
• You’ve led or mentored a team before and enjoy helping others grow by applying a ‘enable & empower’ mindset.
• Strategic thinker with entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to balance out short and long-term business goals.
• You are fluent in SQL and familiar with Python or another programming language for data manipulation and modeling.
• You’re confident designing and interpreting A/B tests, and comfortable guiding others through the process.
• You bring clarity and impact through your communication — whether in dashboards, docs, or decks.
• You are collaborative, humble, and care about creating great games as much as smart analysis.

Great to Have

• Experience in casual games analytics, especially for F2P titles.
• Familiarity with advanced statistical techniques and behaviour modeling.
• Understanding of behavioural psychology or player motivation frameworks.
• Proficiency in industry-standard BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) to visualise and communicate insights effectively.
